About Us
President & Founder
Romel is a self identified public-servant at heart. Serving in different public development spaces since his humble beginnings in Rochester, NY, Romel has carried that passion for giving back and creating opportunities for underserved communities every step of the way.
Shortly after completing his undergraduate education in 2017 at New York University and becoming a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Romel started his career in the non-profit sector at The Harlem Children’s Zone in the Center for Higher Education and Career Support. While there, he aided underserved students in pursuing their dreams of obtaining their college degree or finding their trade of choice.
With a hunger to grow in the public sector and broaden his ability to have a larger impact, Romel pursued his Master’s of Public Administration with a concentration in Budget & Public Finance at George Washington University while working in Academic Affairs full-time at GW and interning in Corporate Responsibility at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co..
Since obtaining his master’s degree in 2021, Romel has worked at Summit Consulting, LLC as a consultant to the United States Department of Treasury in order to administer COVID-19 relief funding to impacted communities across all 50 states and U.S. territories. He also made a return to J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. in a full-time capacity in their Public Sector Treasury Services – Sales Department to provide payment solutions to federal agencies.
Finally, Romel devotes time outside of his nine-to-five (to stay alive) to unify and advance the communities he is most passionate about. In 2021, Romel co-founded BAGA Social, LLC for the purpose of empowering and providing resources and safe spaces to LGBTQIA+ communities through community health partnerships and corporate sponsorships. Romel is excited to bring his talents to Prince George’s County with the creation of Joan’s House, Inc to continue to do the work he has been so driven and inspired by to strengthen our communities, develop our young leaders, and connect our senior citizens to the resources they need.
